Which sprocket did you end up getting? Did you have to change anything to you chain?

Which sprocket did you end up getting? Did you have to change anything to you chain? I bought the OEM sprocket for the 2022 model, it's a straight fit. Because the one tooth reduction it increases the wheelbase by 5mm, the chain length is unchanged from the 2019 to 2022 models.

Thank you for this post. I am going to do the same to get some more mpg. My pleasure, I can say if you consistently cruise 60-80 in top gear you will get better MPG. Look forward to reading about your experience once you've made the change.

I went with the same gearing as the R1, which is 16t/41t, and personally feel it's a significant overall improvement to my riding experience for my style. I like the increased fuel economy. I like the feel of greater stability at higher speeds and being able to power out of turns earlier because of the increased wheel base, though I rarely actuality utilize this extreme edge of the bikes handling characteristics. I like how when riding around town, I find myself shifting fewer times because I've extended the range of each gear across the board. I like that it tamed the front a little bit but the bike makes gobs of torque so you don't have to worry that it'll feel slower on acceleration because it won't. Its still a beast and the front will still come up on you in the lower gears, but just a bit less frequently. The thing I like the most, though, is the impact it had in the hwy cruising speed range. The difference in RPMs means lower exhaust sound levels. Also, I have decat system that retains the butterfly exup valve in the midpipe and that valve doesn't open fully until the motor hits roughly 5k. When I went from the 43t to the 41, my RPMs at the lower end of my crusing speed range would dip below 5k, the valve closes a little bit, and exhaust sound levels drop significantly. On certain occasions, I'm glad to be able to take advantage of this.

Glad to hear it doesn't tame the front end lift too much as that's one of the things that I love about this bike and keeps making me giggle like a little boy every time I ride it lol
