For generic codes and after a flash tune .. there is an engine check light that comes on. The manual and ppl say it clears in 2 "ride cycles" my question is what is consider a ride cycle

20 or 30 mile ride would be my guess
You shouldn't have an engine code after a flash, at least to my knowledge. Could be the tuner forgot to disable the O2 sensors. let us know what code.

I consider a ride cycle as:
Starting from a cold engine. Heating engine up to full operating temperature. Putting a few miles or some load on the engine. Letting engine cool back down.
Rinse/repeat.
