Hey all.
Does anyone know whats on the inside of the cat box of the 2022 model mt10sp?
The standard exhaust with an akra pipe doesnt have a "note" and the akra link pipe is too loud.
Im wondering if there is a pre muffler after the catalyst that i could remove and just leave the cats in place.
I really dont want to tune the bike, it only have about 100klm on it at this point.
Just hoping someone has ripped one apart and could advise whats in there. Also, if the box is made of stainless or titanium (im thinking stainless from the welds and colour).
Cheers in advance.

People have replaced the stock MT cat with the R1 cat which has a higher flow and a little more sound. I'm not sure how the 2022 MT cat compares to the R1 cat though

Lots of people remove the insides of their catalytic converters. Its a honeycomb mesh of metals, including platinum, that the exhaust flows through. The heat on the metal causes a reaction to turn the harmful gases into almost all carbon dioxide. Just take it off the bike and cut out the guts if you want. You could also try the Leo Vince link pipe that has a resonator in it. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/leovince-link-pipe-yamaha-fz-10-2017?sku_id=1212903

Thanks for the replies guys.
Im aware of what the catalyst is and would prefer to keep it but remove any (if any) 'muffling paraphernalia' from the cat box to see if i can amp up the noise and note just a little.
Im hoping to save time and energy by seeing if anyone else has done this already.
I will look at the R1m cat option.
The other exhaust noted doesnt ship to Australia.

Yea I think the R1 cat will be your only option for anything that isn't super loud

Is it a particular year model r1 that suits the 2022 mt10?
Are there any known fitment issues?
Anyone know where to get one in Aus?
Cheers people.
