2022 ECU Removal / Service Manual

I'm also interested in finding a digital download for the service manual. I don't want to deal with the paper... Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find a downloadable PDF.

I removed mine a few weeks ago. It isn't that difficult once you get in there and look at what all needs to be removed. I would not spend the money on a service manual just for that though. I also want to note that if you are doing a tail tidy do that at the same time as 2 of the screws that hold the plastic tray that the ecu sits on (screws are under fender) will need to be removed and that usually means removing the tail tidy. Or at least it did for me with my NRC tail tidy. You will be taking a good bit of stuff off though. You will need to remove the seat, side pieces with mounting holes under the seat to expose the rear subframe, rear bar that sits on top the key and latch mechanism, and 4 screws that hold the rear fender on (these can be a pain because if you drop one nut it will fall under the tray causing you to start over again), and the rear taillight and cover. There are also two screws with spacers that hold the plastic tray to the subframe (towards the front of the bike) that will need to be removed as well. Basically, the ecu sits under a plastic cover that mounts to the bottom of the rear fender of the bike. You will also need to move the exhaust valve actuator as well but it is just held down with a rubber strap. It's hard to explain but trust me it's not hard to figure out once you look at it. The hardest part for me was trying to figure out how to remove the large connector on the ECU. Sadly I did my fender eliminator kit and then a week later had to pull the ECU so I had to remove everything twice. Just take your time and you will be fine. It took me about 45 min the first time to figure it out. The second time took about 20 min. I'll attach some pics of what needs to come off, although there are some screws that are hidden. I'm doing this from memory, so I think this is all the nuts/bolts, and screws you need to remove that I could get a pic of without taking it back apart.  Hope it helps
