Hey all, I‘m a new owner of 2020 MT-10 (5000km) and have one question considering a clutch lever run. I‘ve noticed some kind of a short resistance at the very beginning (1-2mm) when clutching in. It „sticks“ for a moment somehow. It always happen when upschifting while revving (4rpm and above). When coasting (3-4 rpm) or engine runs idle the lever goes smoothly. Its not a big deal but it is noticeable. It is my 4th Yamaha (but 1st MT) and i didn‘t notice this kind of thing on my other bikes. Perhaps it is a MT feature, i don‘t know)) The clutch lever was not an original one when i bought the bike and had a vertical play in pivot area, so i bought a new lever with 0 play but the „problem“ stayed. That is the only issue considering a work of the clutch. Shifting goes well)
Any suggestions?
P.S. When doing a year inspection a month ago they didn‘t find anything suspicious 🤷♂️
Thank you!
Alex

The only issue I have with mine is that the clutch is SUPER grabby when the engine is cold. I've stalled numerous times due to this and it's embarrassing lol.

Have the same year and not experienced that. Have you lubed the cable and ensure u have grease at the pivot pin?

Just thought: 2 years old bike with 5000km, the cable must be virgin)) Another thing that stoped me: when engine is off or runs idle, the lever goes very smooth and i don‘t feel that resistance anymore. So it doesn‘t sound like a cable problem or am i wrong? And yes, the pivot has enough grease, i made sure of that when i changed the lever a week ago. Thank you!

It only does it when the bike it cold, like when I first leave my driveway in the am or work in the pm. A mile down the road it's fine and never does it again.

Wonder if there is a internal clutch adjustment like my FXST had? Sorry working so no access to shop manual.
