Does anyone know if the ball joint is supposed to be loose and fluid? The top one on my shifter is tight and the bike no longer shifts normally. Lubrication does nothing...I may have over tightened it at some point...

Hello, please see below OEM set-up on MT-10 (2021). Ball joint (i verified both top and bottom) came from factory loose and fluid. I grease it with Lithium-Soap based lube. No issue with shift and its normal (even after completely removing it past and re-installing it back as per factory specs). Hope this helps...

Thank you. Appreciate it. Happen to know if the top and bottom joint are identical? I'll have to order a new one. Not sure how it got messed up.

They both looks same (just inverted), but i will verify on bike itself today late evening.

That's why both the parts and their accompanying nuts have different part numbers. This is what makes the shift lever height adjustment work properly.
