I've had three sets of ASV levers and have always been happy with the performance. When I got the set for my 2017 FZ10 there was an issue with the clutch lever. Sent a note to ASV and they confirmed the design of the Yamaha levers were changed slightly by Yamaha and the tab for the lever had to redesigned. They sent me a new tab and that fixed the problem. When you buy cheap, Chinese knockoff levers you are buying a product that is stealing the technology from someone else. ASV and other quality manufacturers do the engineering, tooling, manufacturing and selling of these levers, the Chinese just steal the technology and copy it. Why be part of that scam to save a few dollars? Save up and buy good quality products. That sounds like my experience with the MZS levers. There was a design flaw and when I returned the levers I let them know why. They hit me right back with an email saying they had fixed it and asked if I wanted the new product. If I hadn't already ordered another set somewhere else I would have taken them up on it. I'm not too convinced that they were stealing another aftermarket design either. They came fully assembled and there wasn't a separately sold bike specific mounting piece required.

I bought two different sets of cheap Amazon ones and they were both junk. Fit and finish was terrible. The levers were sloppy in the perches. I now have my ASV's and it's a night and day difference. When it comes to something that could potentially kill you do yourself a favor and don't cheap out. Old thread but wanted to post my findings—ASV brake lever for the Gen2 is poorly designed and does not allow full travel for 100% braking force, and also when hot (track bike—idk if they would on the street) they force the caliper pistons outward and I got horrific brake drag, to the point where I couldn’t spin the front wheel while it was on stands to put the warmers on! Video linked, lmk if it works.

Have you contacted ASV about that issue?

Have you contacted ASV about that issue? Is the R1 master the same as the 22+ master? I’m not seeing that I have any options aside from Brembo other than ASV or going back to stock. I sent the clip to ASV and described the issue in an email today—I’ll update when they respond. Love how the feel and look—crashed ASV twice and they held up stellar—but this is a fatal flaw it seems for our bikes.

The second gen MT is Brembo. stoltecmoto.com/shop/yamaha/fz-10/17-fz-10-radial-master-cylinder-retrofit-kit/
