Good morning All. I just wanted to post a fix for the poor fuel range on the MT-10. I love getting out for a 150 mile or so ride but poor fuel range and gas stations few and far between on my favorite twisty roads. So I added an Acerbis 1.6 gallon fuel tank to the rear rack it feeds through the fuel tank vent hose. So just fuel both tanks and ride! 6.1 gallons of fun!

This mod is sick! Definitely I would consider doing something like this. I love it.
Very cool!
Can you post more details on how you installed it? Did you have to make a custom bracket for it or something?

You found a way for us to get more legs out of this beast. Elaborate more on this process as mentioned by Kyle.

So I ordered the Acerbis 1.6 gallon tail tank! Found it on Amazon for $98.00. I then ordered a Givi MT-10 rear luggage mount with out the Monokey bag mount to its just the side arm!no center! I then got a blue Cutting board from Bimart and drilled it for the tank. The fuel line attaches to the stock event line. It pulled fuel from the rear tank and then from the front! I have not fully test it for range yet. But in town it been awesome! It's like riding the T7. I don't even notice the fuel back there!

That's a very ingenious idea. I just really wish Yamaha would've given this bike at least a 5gal if not 5.5gal tank from the factory.

True but they didn't so I made it work for me! We have some awesome roads here that are over 140miles between gas stops. Now I can make that no problem! And when I don't want the extra tank it comes off with 4 bolts and a fuel quick disconnect! I don't even notice the tank back there!

Ok guys I have been testing my new Tail Tank. It has added over 44-46 miles to the MT-10. I have been playing hard getting 27.9 mpg and getting 44.8 extra miles on a fill up! Unfortunately I have not had time to do a trip to see if I can get even better MPG. I know on trips I get around 36-40 MPG if I am behaving my self! Super easy to hook up just plum the tank into the vent hose on your bike! If you have a California bike you'll need to remove the evap system to make this all work! Hope this help you guys with extra mileage! I can now go over 160 miles on a full up! Happy Riding boys!

Just rode from Medford to Brookings Oregon! 140 miles have not dropped a bar! This new setup is awesome! At looking like about 180 miles before I'll need Gas! So excited!

Ok After a run over to the coast and back playing hard have a good time plus some city driving and wheelies! My gas light came on at 173.5 miles! It took 5.2 gallons to fill the main and aux tank! This mod is super easy did not even lift the fuel tank off the bike! Pulled the vent tube from the left side of the bike rerouted it under the seat and hooked the two hoses together! So happy with my smiles per tank now!

The new mod is working great! I have been using it on every day rides now. When we make a brunch run up the mountain I fill up both tanks. I don't worry about needing fuel. I can play as hard as I won't and don't need gas before everyone else. Just watch for Jonny law! I now ride the MT-10 all the time! I used to take the Super Tenere or Tenere 700 because we might run 100 miles for brunch and back. Such a great mod!

I can dig it. Thanks for sharing. Question: Is it barely noticable like a tail bag, or is it different around curves with the liquid going left or right?

So the tank only holds 1.6 Gallons of gas. So is unnoticeable! We took a very fast twist road and with 220lbs I almost forgot it was there. At 145miles the first gas bar had not moved so I was super happy. Until some makes a bigger tank it's the only option for more mileage. The gas light now comes on at 177 miles. And thats playing hard not pussfooting around.
