I'm wondering if 2022 QS/AB is backwards capable on FZ-10/MT-10 of previous years like the QS on 18-21 is for the 2017 FZ-10?

We need someone with resources to explore that. I don't have disposable funds to try it out myself.

I'm wondering if 2022 QS/AB is backwards capable on FZ-10/MT-10 of previous years like the QS on 18-21 is for the 2017 FZ-10? With my experience with my FTECU kit the ECU needs to be enabled for the blip function even if it came factory with the QS. Not sure if that applies to the OEM however. The other thing is the 22 will likely have a different harness as you'll need at least one extra wire for the blip function. On the FTECU kit this extra wire is inserted intot he ECU connector, replacing a pin that's currently there. My assumption is the flash makes the ECU know that that specific pin is the blip trigger. We'll have to wait until the 2022 OEM parts lookup comes out (I'm looking for the front reservoir anyways - not a huge fan of the Brembo one that came with my R1 m/c kit) and see what the cost of the unit itself is and see if it's even worth it. Retail for an OEM QS unit is ~$240. The FTECU kit can be had for around $400 if you look around but it also requires an ECU flash (free minus shipping if you already have your flashed with 2WDW).

I'm leaning towards OEM QS, but I was wondering about compatibility of 2022 unit before purchase.

Here's a couple clips from today of my FTECU blipper in action:

Last year I tested an Aprilla Tuono 1100 Factory with QS/AB. It was sweet. I would love it on my FZ-10

Just noticed it. I've seen those in other rider's videos and had to have one lol. It does squeak and it also lights up for night time riding. www.amazon.com/wonuu-Ornaments-Dashboard-Decorations-Propeller/dp/B08BYJGHNQ

I don’t think it would be a straight forward plug and play retrofit. The ‘22 have the 6 axis IMU and TFT dash, to me that indicates a very different wiring loom. My ‘17 MT10 came with the “up” quick shifter fitted from the factory. I wasn’t a fan of any quick shifter on road bikes until I got my MT10 a few years back. I like the factory fitted version. I’ve got a ‘10 R1 with an aftermarket “up” quick shifter fitted and it’s crude compared to the factory job. My new MT10SP gets delivered in a week, that’ll be my first experience with “up & down” quick shifter I’ll have experienced. Happy happy, joy joy!

I’m pleased to report the delivery of my ‘22 MT10SP 2 days ago. It’s winter here in New Zealand, fortunately that just means it’s a little cold and decidedly wet for a couple of months. I was fortunate to find reasonably dry roads out there this morning so I got to ride it for about 200klm. It is noticeably smoother than my ‘17 in the fueling and “quick shifter up” action. Very impressed with the Ohlins active suspension, noticeable changes in compliance between the modes. I was intimidated by the vast range of set able electronic options initially but it’s no more complex than an iPhone once you get familiar with it. It will be a very interesting comparison next time I ride my ‘17 MT10.

Looks a bit more naked than previous gen, the mirrors stick out more so than before. like the new master cylinder, So two MT’s does your partner ride as well?
