Would like to know what others think about this. I have seen all the Euro review Channels get there hands on the bike but have not heard or seen anything about it here in the states. Website says it will hit dealerships in march.
I have called at least 20 different dealerships all over the US and none of them have a clue when or if they will even get them. I currently have a deposit on one close to where I live and even they have said they are completely in the dark and have not heard from a rep regarding what to expect as far as inventory or arrival date.
Anybody have any insight as to what is going on? Yamaha claims release in March and here we are half way through it and not a single dealership has an answer?

I would be absolutely devastated if this is the case.
However, the dealership which I have been in contact with has basically "yes we are getting one in raven black", but they won't let me put a deposit or anything until they have a VIN from Yamaha.
The dealership has informed me they are expecting to receive the bike in May (not sure if early May or late May). They said that once they have a VIN, it takes around a week for the bike to be on the showroom floor. These supply delays really suck. I'm dying here.
Btw, have you been able to get an OTD quote with your dealership? Mine quoted 16.6K OTD.... Definitely not a steal, but I guess now is the worst time to buy a bike.

I was able to get a deposit on mine, and they told me they expected late March to April. Not sure if that was just a guess. I was quoted 15,350 OTD. I would be very upset as well if they don’t come till much later this year. May need to hold on to my 20 MT09 longer than I thought.

The OTD prices sound accurate my brother just bought a 2021 cb1000r black edition msrp 12,999 and the OTD after everything was 16k he did buy the 4 year warranty. Just really bummed out that nobody has any clue.
Plus I have been without my 2018 mt10 for 7 months now because of engine failure after 7000 miles and it will be late April before I get it back because of national back order on crankshafts. Funny enough they might release the crankshafts late march. Guess they needed the cranks to manufacture the new bikes?

A 1k difference is pretty substantial. I'm a bit too lazy to call around other dealerships though. Just wondering though - what is the sales tax in your state? Here in NJ sales tax is 6.6%, I'm just wondering if maybe that has part to do with such the difference. My dealer also tacked on $500 for "setup and prep" which was the only item on there which I thought was pretty BS.

My dealer also tacked on $500 for "setup and prep" which was the only item on there which I thought was pretty BS. Sales tax can be a huge thing depending on location. Some states have none at all. It's 6.25% here in MA. I bought my leftover 2019 for $11,999. So 6.25% tax on that is $750. For a 2022 that retails at $13,999 that's $875. For the $16,899 SP that's an extra $1,244 tacked on. That's all assuming you get it for MSRP as well. You'll also occasionally see a freight charge and that's typically set by the MFR - that's what the MFR charged the dealer to ship that bike to them. Same way cars have a "destination charge". Most MFR's charge like $300-$400 for a motorcycle and around $800 for ATV's and snowmobiles. Actually looking at the Yamaha website for the 2022 they list: "Destination Charge: $430. Freight surcharge: $200**** (Freight surcharge is effective on 2022 MY vehicles shipped on, or after, Nov 21 2021)." So boom, there's another $630 tacked onto the MSRP right off the bat. Also as far as the $500 setup goes that's normal, if a tad bit high. They have to pay someone to open the crate, get the bike out, install things like mirrors then go over the bike - air up the tires, check chain tension, check oil level, fill/charge/install the battery then fire up the bike and make sure everything works - lights, switches horn, etc. before it goes out the door. I've uncrated thousands of bikes, ATV's, snowmobiles, etc. over the years and while some are as easy as "open the crate and roll it out" some are very complicated and take a couple hours to uncrate and assemble. $500 is a pretty typical charge, most places I've worked at over the last 20 years have been in that neighborhood. Some charged more for snowmobiles but those can be a PITA to set up, especially compared to a motorcycle. You might be able to haggle with them to drop the prep a bit since the MT's only require mirror installation. Pretty sure the batteries even come already filled and charged. They just need to do tire pressures and check fluids. So for here in MA once you factor in sales tax, freight and surcharge plus $500 prep you're at $16,003.94 OTD on a $13,999 MSRP or $19,085.19 for the SP.

If anybody is up for it call around to some bigger dealerships and see if you can get an answer on possible arrival date I’ll make some more calls too. I’ll post what I find out.

My local Ktm dealer has a 890 Duke R,i like it but not sure if i trust its reliability vs yamaha,it wont be around long so i have to decide soon

Then hearing about all the little things like electrical gremlins and some kind of radiator recall on them I was like "meh" But OTOH when "Master of torque" is concerned the MT loses HEAVILY to the 1290SDR. "MT" in the Yamaha world maybe.

I talked to a yamaha rep today on a 22 mt10 that was ordered during the first round of orders a few weeks ago. He's saying June or July. Orders are closed now so if a dealer didn't get any they are sol for now at least. I don't realistically see them opening back up again till the 23 models. I was told the bikes that were ordered are ready, they are in Japan. The hold up is logistics. Yamaha usa doesn't even have a 22 mt10 demo yet. I bug the hell out of them so if I hear anything else I'll post it.

I've had a deposit on a 2022 MT-10 since January with a dealer in NE PA. The dealership doesn't have a VIN to assign my deposit to, but I'm first in line for allocation on a black model. OTD price was $15,8xx. They don't have an estimated delivery date yet. I'll keep you guys updated.

I wish we could get that blue in the states. I'm not a fan of the Cyan Storm. Love the wheels but the fact that the tank is grey and intact duct plastics are black just don't mix well for me.

I put a deposit for a Cyan Storm the day it was announced by Yamaha (in November i believe?) Dealership here in AZ still has no idea when they're getting one
