So on my 2018 MT-10 I was getting an intermittent issue where the cruise control would stop working and the cruise light starts blinking. Often times I can just turn the bike off then on via the key and it'll work just fine again. However, since it was becoming more and more annoying since I always use the CC when I ride, I decided to try and fix the issue myself and so far so good. I didn't mention it in the video, but i hooked my OBD 2 reader to the bike and saw a fault code for the front/rear brake switch. That's what prompted me to take this course of action in the first place. The cruise switch and the brake light switch are exactly the same and are designed to activate at the same time. What causes the issue is when the brake light switch gets stuck "on", even for a split second, while the cruise switch is off. This causes the ECU to think there's a short. I see no issue with splicing the wiring the way I did as the light goes on and the cruise de-activates when pulling the front brake. I also went ahead and cleaned the contacts on the rear brake switch as well for good measure.

I believe there's a recall or a tech bulletin on faulty brake light/cruise control sensors as well. Could be your unit is affected.
