Hello Guys,
Recently i observed grinding sound when clutch lever is depressed (bike in idle). Everytime i depress clutch lever this grinding sound comes as shown in picture. MT 10 is brand new, 4300Kms (2671 Miles) on it, 2021 model, serviced with Yamalube, no modification no tuning.
Is this normal?

I noticed you have an aftermarket clutch lever on your ride. It may be causing the clutch release arm to over travel. Before you go any further, reinstall the OEM clutch lever and adjust it correctly. If noise is still present, return it to the dealer for diagnosis and repair.

Is the clutch slipping during riding when everything is warmed up? If not, just send it and don't keep worrying about it.

HELP This seems to be normal, after showing it to local Yamaha service center, comparing with another Gen-1 MT-10 and brand new Gen-2 MT-10 SP. Nothing to worry about unless its loud and sounds like metal grinding towards destroying something.

So when you pull the clutch lever it's compressing the springs and putting pressure on the cover so any noise is getting funneled through the actuator and into the cover, which is rounded and hollow, and as such tends to amplify the noise. Engines with a left side actuator and push rod don't do this as there's nothing pressing on the clutch cover. I wish Yamaha went the pushrod route as I was hoping to make/buy a clear clutch cover like the one I had on my old TLR.

Been on sabbatical, ski season and all. That noise is normal. Remember I heard a similar sound on my 400 Special back in the 90’s and in the 80’s on my Elsinore.
I also hear it on my MT-10. It became more pronounced after 6k, again it’s normal.
