Was getting excited about what I was about to read...then I got to the proposed specs. Spoon feeding us another 5 hp is rather disappointing considering the potential the powerplant is capable of. Not to mention the 4.4 lbs. of added weight. NOT being negative, was just hoping there'd finally be a reason (and justification) to open up my wallet and head to the dealership! All I can hope for now is vastly improved styling so that I/We can retrofit to our existing steeds! Specifically that headlight unit LOL!!

I'm happy and sad on this news - I'm happy in a sense that we are at least getting an updated model. I heard rumors across this board/other sources that Yamaha may be discontinuing the model (I guess speculation since they didn't update the 2021 models like the 03/07/09) I'm not so happy that the Mt-10 will likely adopt the looks of the updated 03/07/09... I personally LOVE the dual headlight "transformers" look... I'm hoping that the MT-10 will get its' well-deserved TFT dash, or at the very least allow us to obtain an SP model in the US like they did with the 09.
Personally, the marginal power increases don't excite me very much. My preference would be to see the bike have a better MPG/larger tank, and I'd even be willing to sacrifice a few HP for that... I plan on heading to the dealership in 2022 to get one and can't wait.

If the 22 sees the SP come to the US with the TFT, up/down quickshifter and other goodies I'll probably sell mine and get one. Depends on the looks though - if it gets the same 07/09 headlight that might be a dealbreaker. I hope it gets a radial m/c from the R1 too.

For the higher price that Yamaha will inevitably want, you'd think that they'd equip the SP with the RI's magnesium wheels.

Does anybody know where to find the official homologation data sheet of the RN78 A and B motorbike type ? I think that in US you've an offial site giving this but I can't find it.
Uselly, there are many interesting datas on this sheet.
