Folks, Newbie here on this forum. I recently traded in my MT-07 in favor of a beautiful 2021 MT-10 and have been doing some mods to it. The one I am having back and forth about is exhaust and would appreciate some advice. On the MT-07 I used to have full titanium Akrapovic exhaust and did full dyno and ECU flash. In general I liked it much better than stock. For MT-10 I am trying to avoid dumping $2K into the full exhaust system, but want to make small adjustments. The bike has more than enough power for my needs, so power gains are not the primary driver, but I just can't stand the stock lawn mower sound. My goal is: Better and deeper sound than stock, but not obnoxiously loud, for my neighbors to hate my guts.I have looked at the following decat midpipe: As well as these full exhaust systems: The plan is to do a full dyno and ECU flash for the bike after the upgrade. The decat pipe is a much cheaper option that seems to yield decent effects based on the YouTube videos. Do you think I should just save up and go with one of the full systems (if so, which of the two?) or will the decat be perfectly fine for my needs?

Congratulations man! I trade mt FZ-09 in on a 2021 MT-10! It's bad ass. I did the Akrapovic TI mid pipe and Termignoni muffler! Sounds awesome. I also did the 2wheeldynoworks.com ECU flash. The bike is very strong. I also ride a 99 Hayabusa. First mod I did was a tidy tail. Cleaned up the total look of the bike! Next will be more Blue paint.

I've got the stock muffler, an Akra slip-on, and I did have a Leovince midpipe. After 1000km I took the midpipe off and sold it and refitted the stock cat and EXUP. The Leovince was fine at open road speeds (I do wear earplugs at all times) but too throbby for my tastes around town. I am much happier with the stock cat and the Akra muffler, which is sufficiently musical for me. A reflash is definitely worth doing and makes the bike really come alive at the low end, and a bit more up high if you ever need it.

I have the Hindle 3/4 on mine with a 2WDW flash and it's a beast.

OP, consider retaining the stock system, wiring the exup valve open and sending your ecu to Two Wheel Dyno Works. They have developed a map that gives 150rwhp with this setup. As far as the sound goes, it's deeper and a tad louder than the bone-stock setup yet not as obnoxious as an aftermarket decat system. I ran this configuration for a couple of years before switching to a Graves EVR for track work.

Thank you all for your inputs. Went with stock muffler and Leo Vince link pipe with a small resonator inside. The bike is currently going through dyno and ECU tune up by folks at Bauce Racing in NJ. Will share the result once I pick the bike up.

Looking good!
I kept my stock muffler as well.
Could not bring myself to pay so much $$$ for new can when the stock one was already titanium and sounds good after removing the cat.

You want inexpensive? If you sniff around, you can find a great deal on a Yoshimura Alpha system. Got mine for under $600. Just remember, if you yank cat, you are going to need to flash it accordingly as fueling will be WAY off. In all actuality, ecu flash in these gets you 95% of the power gains, not the exhaust. The graves is an absolutely beautiful system but I can't see spending 1/4 of what I paid for the bike on a exhaust system. Decat/exhaust does save a lot of weight plus brings out that beautiful cp4 sound.
