Hey all, I apologize in advance as I know this topic has been beaten to death, and I don’t mean to continually beat a dead horse, but trying to peace meal all the different threads on this topic is like putting together a 1000pc jigsaw puzzle. So thought I’d ask specifically. I’m awaiting delivery of my first ever FZ-10, used of course. Performance wise all it has is a Yoshi slip-on. I’m planning on an ECU flash, but would like to install a reasonably priced mid-pipe. My concern, how would the drone be? I don’t mind a little louder noise than stock, but not obnoxious and definitely can’t tolerate drone. With installation of a mid-pipe, what else needs to be done, such as AIS or Servo Buddy?
As for the flash, seems like there’s some very good tuners out there, and will be shipping ECU to one of them as none are very close to N.E. Florida. Appreciate the comments and any advice!

I would recommend Chris Moore tuning in SC. Get the AIS block offs, Sprint air filter, and the decat pipe. The Leo Vince is one of the most affordable and reputable quality at $250. You can watch videos on Chris's Youtube channel on that almost exact set up.

Would you happen to know how loud or how much drone there is with that setup and a Yoshi pipe?

I have the 2WDW flash and 3/4 Alpha T Yosh with the quiet tip installed because I fear it would draw too much police attention without the quiet tip. Even with the quiet tip in I still think its too loud when I'm hard on the throttle so I am very cautious of hammering the throttle around town. However, 'easy spirited' riding and cruising on a country road or highway, I think its fairly quiet and definitely does not drone.

No drone in mine with stock can. I do wear ear plugs though, learned that a while bag. Makes riding and concentrating on it so much better.

I had a Leovince mid-pipe and Akrapovic slip-on, and the sound on the open road was fine, once over 100km/hr I could barely hear it while cruising. Around town I found it annoyingly loud, so I went back to the stock cat/EXUP valve with the Akra slip-on, which makes a nice mellow sound. If you go with a midpipe then my experience was a reflash was a good idea as the bike runs lean down low stock, and the mid-pipe makes that worse. A reflash with the stock cat made a world of difference too and the bike is much peppier at the low end.
If you remove the stock cat/EXUP valve you can remove the EXUP cables but just leave the servo plugged in, no fault codes will be generated. If you blank the AIS system you can leave the solenoid valve plugged in and avoid fault codes. You can get resistors to replace both components to avoid the faults.
