I thought it was funny

The funny part, well at least I thought it was funny.
At the school we start getting some of the new Yamaha FZ10.

This is home for the school during the summer months.
I rode the FZ10 one whole day. I found out I LOVE THE BIKE.
I didn't really know very much about it, but it does a lot of things really well.

Fast forward to this past October. Now we are in Arizona. Inde Motorsports Ranch www.indemotorsports.com
Inde is an incredible facility, we ultilize it during the winter months.
I get out to the bikes early Monday morning. I put my helmet on a FZ10. Wanted to be sure I had one to
ride for the day. I was looking forward to some more FZ10 (rear wheel) therapy.

After student introductions and some classroom, its ride time.
I get the slower group. I usually do. I like it this way. I'm really good with the newer riders, plus my risk
level is low like this.
I gather my three students together and we head out on to the track. I get part way around and start paying attention to the dash. I notice a number 2, centered and toward the bottom. I think to myself, this must be which mode I am in. I start pushing buttons to see what happens. Nothing! I keep riding, and a few corners later I press and push buttons again, nothing. I push again, and it changes to 3. I thought "sweet, let's get this thing back to 1". I push and press, nothing. By now I don't get it. Beside i am supposed to be paying attention to my students. I stop fiddling with and go to work. A bit later I take a quick peek at the numbers and now it says 8.
How was I supposed to know I had just got on a brand new Yamaha FZ10 with zero miles.
What a loser... when i thought it was mode 2, it was actually mile 2. Then mile 3, and mile 4, and so on.

I had to laugh out loud.
What an idiot.

Can't wait to ride the mighty Yamaha FZ10 again.
