Couldn't take that damn loud tick / clack on decel anymore and sold the bike, this tick / clack over powers my headset and exhaust- just not acceptable Dealer took it for a ride after doing the Brake switch recall and says it's normal, some say injector tick, some say valve out of spec Took it to a shop (not dealer) and reported back that the valves were in spec. Its unfortunate because the bike does put a grin on your face but at the same time embarrasses you I've actually got asked numerous times at lights or when pulling in to an establishment if I was aware of a noise coming out of my bike. If it only sounded like the below.... I would of kept it, the ticking that the U-tuber recorded sounds normal to me
Anyway will be posting a new Blaster X tail light on the classifieds if anyone is interested

I just put a stage 3 clutch in my Focus ST. You should hear the racket that thing makes especially when the AC is on lol. I get what you're saying though. You can either deal with it or you can't. I hope you find a bike that suits you.

Sorry to hear you gave her up . A little back story would be nice like did you buy it brand new or used and abused track day bike . I only noticed ticking sometimes then it goes away like it's been beaten on here . I only have 5k miles on my bike and rarely need to hit redline to do what I need to or ring it out .
Anyway God speed my friend .

Anyway God speed my friend . Purchased used- 1200 miles- from older gent- wasn't tracked- does was its supposed to do- doesn't feel like it's short on power- actually surprised me how easy the front comes up- Funny thing is when I test rode it during the transaction I didn't hear it- within 50 miles of my ownership I started hearing it on decel, like you said it comes and goes, well not totally but very faint where it doesnt bother me, then within 100 miles it stayed permanently on that it overpowered the exhaust and my music volume- (I don't blast the music, just enough to level out wind noise) again only on decel or coasting.... another 50 miles later decided to let er go, IMHO theres something Yamaha is missing here because not all MT-10's have this ticki-tic-tack noise. and there's no way this noise is from injectors.

I was just getting my baby ready fir a ride on Sunday right now , I had to do a little pressure wash under around the pan but gently.
I typically just use sone cleNs rags and killer protectant maybe some silicone spray fir the stuburn spots on my rime where some chain lube get on. I'm so ocd with this bike it's like sickness.
Anyway I fired her up and it literally has zero click or clack she just purrs like just bitchin. I'm sure it's a cam chain thing just like a few have said. I really don't think it's fuel injection cause I don't hear most of the time .
I sometimes hear it when I first go out after it sat for a week then it's gone , maybe it's the great oil I use who knows . Al's I can say is this bike absolutely just f......g rips .
And still looks showroom or even better with after parts .

I got my 2021 MT10 about 5 months ago and have 3800 miles on it. From the time I got it until my last oil change, 150 miles ago it had a very loud tick. I could not remember a time it didnt make that tick. Then I change the oil myself to the full synthetic from Yamaha and Ive heard no tick in the last 150 miles. Ill see if it comes back. Joe

Mine is very quiet using full syn oil by the time I notice it getting louder its gone . Check out timing chain thread about this subject I'm sold on what's been said about it at least the characteristics of the symtoms fit my bike totally. Also along with the fuel injection noises make a symphony of ticks and tacks .
