Hi and thanks to all that work and advise , guide and offer insight into the bikes we all care for. I am new to the site. Originally from the UK, Lancashire then through work managed to travel a little and now retired find myself in South America. Uruguay at present before that I was in Bolivia and moving on again soon, it could be to Colombia.
I have an MT09 but will be getting shut for a 10. I need to sort out purchase in the UK then shipping to me here.
Which is what i did with the MT09. So if anybody is down this way, difficult i know due to the C19 thing but in the future send me a message come to visit and i will putt he kettle on. The weather here, compared to the UK, is great to be on a bike .

Welcome! Sounds expensive to get a bike shipped down to you

Hi W84
It wasn't too bad a lot cheaper than I thought.. I am in Uruguay and so gp back to the UK to see friends and family every year , prior to C19, on one visit i saw the MT09 bought it then had the seller ride to me, in the UK. Then had it transported to a company in Hull to be crated who did a great job.
i had to get back to Uruguay so then arranged with the shipping company to collect from the crating company and ship it to Montevideo.. very reasonable price wise.
took a few months to get here i had more trouble getting it out of the docks here than the buying, crating and shipping in the UK.
The reason i did this was firstly more to choose from in the UK, bikes better maintained than here and so much cheaper.. a new MT09 here is 23,000 US dollars..one like mine but with higher mileage second hand 16,000 US dollars. so with cost of shipping etc it was cheaper than buying here.
So i will look to sell my MT09 here before moving on and then do the same again. Buy in the UK, an MT10 this time , ship it and register it there if permitted as in some South American countries you cant import used vehicles to register there. not a funny or entertaining story but thought i would share. Keep it upright and stay safe
