Sharing EXUP valve elimination idea

After reading a few posts about what others have done or asking what to do with their EXUP valve after disabling it I figured I would share what I have done with mine. I hate having unnecessary or no longer needed objects on my bike so I decided to do away with the entire EXUP system. Removing the actuator under the seat with the cables was the easy part. Trying to figure out what to do with the valve itself took a little ingenuity. I no longer wanted it on the bike because for one it was totally useless and two it looked like crap. I first removed the catalytic converter and with an angle grinder I cut the top and bottom of the valve off, and all the other brackets, completely flush with the pipe. After shaking the pipe a few times the valve fell right out. I then cleaned up the area around the two holes and welded them closed with a couple small pieces of stainless. Grinding everything down almost flush was the last step before wrapping the area with header wrap. I used the titanium colored 1" wrap from DEI. Overall I think it turned out really well and I no longer have to look at that useless and ugly valve.
