Had anyone has any problems with their oem Yamaha quick shift not working? I'm at 1500 miles now and yesterday and today I noticed it failing to work. I'd move the shifter and it wouldn't cut out. Then it'd work again

Happened again this morning on my way into work. Went through three shifts with no problems then went to shift again and nothing - shifter wouldn't cut the engine to shift. Shifted with the clutch then went to use the QS again a minute later and it worked fine.

Are you completely releasing pressure off the shifter between shifts?

How much throttle are you giving? Mine doesn't really work with less than 40%, or more in higher gears.

Are you completely releasing pressure off the shifter between shifts? Definitely. I'll even let off the shifter and press it a couple more times in a row and it just refuses to work How much throttle are you giving? Mine doesn't really work with less than 40%, or more in higher gears. Maybe that's got something to do with it. Light throttle, cruising 6k or so RPM. I'll have to pay attention next time and see what makes it not work

Alright so I rode into work this morning and noticed much of the same - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
I was thinking maybe it was related to RPM but disproved that. Was accelerating from a stop in 1st, went to hit the QS at 6k and no go several times. Shifted with the clutch then hit the QS again for 2-3 at around 5k and it worked fine. I also tried it cruising at steady throttle around 4k in 3rd and it popped into 4th just fine so RPM and/or throttle position doesn't seem to affect it at all.
The only thing that's changed is the 2WDW flash. I've noticed that the QS operation also seems more jerky than it did before the flash, almost like it's cutting out for a few ms too long.
I'm going to shoot them an email and ask if their flash affects the QS settings at all and see what they say.

So I heard back from the 2WDW guys and their flash doesn't touch the QS settings at all. They're suggesting it might be the sensor going bad. Rode home today and it only flaked on me twice but worked perfect most of the time. Strange.
