Hi Gang, I'm Terry from Auckland, New Zealand. Been riding a loooong time, first bike was a CB125T in 1982. I recently caught the MT-10 bug and am in the process of selling down my fleet (09 ST1300, 97 VTR1000F and 01 FJS600) to fund the purchase of an MT-10 SP to keep up with mates with a Tuono 1100 and Z-H2. Looking forward to learning the ins and outs of the MT and sharing in some forum know-how.

Welcome! My bike before my -10 was a 98 VTR1000F. Someone pulled out in front of me and totaled it and broke my collarbone. That's ok, wasn't a huge fan of that bike anyways lol

So I picked up the bike at the weekend, 12000km and lots of nice add-ons. I've ordered a short screen and will fit some heated grips and panniers for longer journeys.

Beautiful bike!
You will not regret your purchase.
I had my choice down to my MT-10 and a Tuono.
I ultimately chose the MT because of comfort, light touring capabilities, and dealer support.
I've owned quite a few bike and never been 100% happy with any of them except my MT!

I had my first decent ride over the last weekend, it helped that we had some beautiful weather to match. I'm fortunate to live close to some great country roads with little traffic but plenty of tight and twisty bends, and I rode for about 4 hours all up. The MT was great, nice and relaxing to ride but with that amazing punchy engine. I found the comfort seat pretty decent, and the overall ride position was great, and even the fuel consumption was surprisingly acceptable (much better at speed than around town). I need to setup the suspension better (haven't checked the sag yet) but I did dial back the compression at both ends as our roads can be pretty lumpy. I also managed my first decent/unintentional power wheelie, boy did that make me laugh!

I also managed my first decent/unintentional power wheelie, boy did that make me laugh! Yea the first time the front came up on me unintentionally was very grin-inducing as well! It was more of an "oh, ok that was nice"
