Hi all,
I have been noticing that my clutch has not been disengaging fully. A few examples,
1. When coasting with the clutch in around 20kmph, if I blip the throttle I can hear and feel a clunk somewhere near the front sprocket/chain area. 2. I can hear and feel engine braking when clutched in, in first gear. When I give it a bit of throttle (still clutched in), the bike was able to coast freely. 3. I have to give it a bit of gas to get it to neutral from gear 1 when bike is hot.
The bike runs fine, shift through the gears fine and smooth when riding. Am running a 10W50 oil. Clutch lever and clutch cover are adjusted to manual spec, with sufficient slack. Any tips, or answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all!

If you've already checked the cable and lever adjustment then It might be the oil. If the oil is a little thicker it'll drag on the clutch plates more than it should. How's the oil level as well? Overfilling the oil could net the same effect

Sounds like you need to adjust the clutch cable for free play. It's in the manual.

Overfilling the oil could net the same effect Im currently using a fully synthetic 10W50 engine oil.. this only happens in low speed/gear 1. Doesnt happen in gear 2 onwards.. further more everything shifts smoothly

Sounds like you need to adjust the clutch cable for free play. It's in the manual. The freeplay has been adjusted according to the manual, including the one located at the clutch cover.. would double check again. Hope it could be the oil causing the friction..

I've had plenty of bike where if you rev while stopped with the clutch in you can feel the bike try to move slightly. It's typical of wet clutch assemblies

Turn your adjuster at the lever alllll the way in and make the adjustment down at the adjuster by the clutch cover. Search Youtube for Revzilla shop manual Ari Henning has a video on how to do it.

Some mt10 from the factory shipped with faulty clutch steel ring that sits behind the clutch center and is to thick and can build a ton of heat. That heat can then transfer to the crank causing bearing failure replace it asap.
