Hi Guys,
Getting ready to trailer my FZ-10 for the first time, I'm taking it on a 700 mile trip to northern Georgia. My first thought was to buy the Canyon Dancer II to secure the front, but after reading problems some people had with their handlebars rotating during transport or damage to their grips/throttle, I started thinking that I may just use a loop strap through the steering crown at the top of the forks. Trying not to lose sleep thinking about the bike tipping over during the trip, or worse yet, coming off of the trailer. Other than a front wheel chock, and decent straps, how are you tying down your FZ-10 for transport? Anyone have problems with Canyon Dancers or Canyon Dancer II's?

Loop a ratchet strap over the bottom triple clamp on each side. Make sure you compress the forks some when you tighten it down but not too much or you can blow a seal. Put a strap through each passenger peg bracket and tighten it enough so the back won’t scoot or hop around. Like 90% of securing a bike is done up front. Most importantly do not have the bike on the side stand. Have the front wheel all the way against the front of your trailer and the bike needs to be vertical. Hope this helps.

I wrap a shop towel around my grips before putting on canyon dancers. They've damaged or twisted my trips on my track bike before. Otherwise, I love them.

I've seen problems with canyon dancers and twisting grips as well. I also recommend NOT using the II as I've had the plastic cups break off on a customer once. After that I'll only use the original style - grips be damned. I used mine to haul mine 2 hours home after I bought it (and it was cranked tight because the U-haul trailers seem to have ZERO suspension) and my grips were fine.
