Hi guys, new MT-10 owner (soon-to-be) here. I'm buying a 2019 raven this week. Already getting a Yoshi undertail and Hindle exhaust with an ECU flash to come soon. I've been riding for about 20 years now. I've worked at various dealerships as a mechanic and I've ridden all sorts of bikes. I've owned a bunch and typically like the oddballs. I learned on an 85 VF500F, moved to an 85 Ninja 900, then went through two brand new 2003 TL1000R's. I sold the TL and then used a friends' 06 ZX-10 for a couple years. Then bought a used 98 Super Hawk that needed work and rode that until some clown pulled out in front of me 3 years ago and totaled it. I rode the MT07, 09 and 10 last year at a local demo day and fell in love with the 10 immediately. I hear people saying it gets short range but coming from the TL and Super Hawk I would fill both up around the 100 mile mark anyhow so that's nothing new. It'll mostly be a daily commuter bike - about 20 miles each way mixed riding. Here's a pic of my old TLR. I had a TON of work done to it - powder coat and paint (2004 R1 red to be exact), BST wheels, Ohlins all around, Brembo radial master cylinders, Gilles rearsets and chain adjuster/lifters, clear clutch cover with billet pressure plate, carbon 998 front fender and much more little things. I originally had a full Yosh stainless/ti system then put a full ti Akrapovic then got a SMOKING deal on a new TiForce full system from a Parts Unlimited rep and sold the bike with that. Shame TiForce is no longer around - their stuff was gorgeous.
I'll be sure to post pics of the MT-10 when I pick it up!

Congrats on the new purchase!
You will not regret your decision, my FZ-10 is the best bike I've ever owned. I find it strikes the perfect balance between performance and comfort.

That's what I'm hoping for. The super hawk was fun but man my lower back and wrists would start hurting after a half hour ride. I'm 36 and would prefer the comfort but still want something fun and unique. I've never been a fan of Yamaha's seats so I might end up with their comfort seat, I'll put a bunch of miles on it and see how the stocker is.

Yeah at 39 when I bought it 2 years ago I was in the same spot as yourself and did a lot of searching for the "sweet spot".
I really like the Tuono and Ducait Supersport (or monster) but price and dealer support are what put the Yamaha on top.
As for the stock seat, lots of people complain about it, but I dont have any issues with it.
I have a bony butt too. I'm 6 foot 185 pounds.

Going to do the paperwork tomorrow after work (dealer is an hour east of me), probably pick it up early next week 🤞 I had looked at the GSX-F (750 and 1000) first as I'm a pretty big Suzuki guy but the standard I4 sound is just too boring for me. Tried finding an older v-twin Tuono but they're hard to find. Was also cross-shopping the Hypermotard, Streetfighter and the 1290 Super Duke but those are out of my price range except for the Hypermotard base models. Was also looking at the CB1000 and the Z1 but came back to the same boring I4 drone that those have. On a side note - how do you subscribe to a thread on this forum? Others have had a setting for subscribe to all threads you post in or create or even an option at the top of the thread to subscribe or follow it but I can't seem to find that option here. I clicked the gear and clicked "Bookmark" but I'm not getting any email notifications for replies so I don't think that's it.
