I’ve noticed that my bike seems to be lacking in power compared to other FZ/MT 10 bikes. I look at videos of people doing power wheelies in 3 gear but when I give it a try in any gear, I just end up looking dumb. I’ve seen that I need to do it at around 8-9000 rpm but I’ve only managed to slightly lift the front up. I’m not being timid either, I usually wack it. This is all while in first gear too. I guess everyone makes it look so easy and I’m wondering if it’s just me. I only have a GP slip on exhaust. Should I get a flash? Am I really being timid? How did y’all start to wheelie on the FZ/MT-10?

I know I suck at wheelies and you probably do too. I don't think it's a bike, it's the operator. Practice.

Literally GANK on the throttle in any mode in any gear (1st - 3rd) and clutch it if you need more "instant" lift off.
Also... do you have Traction Control turned "ON" while attempting?
Make sure it's either in "1" (lowest intrusiveness), or "off" while attempting wheelies.

I have to ride like a pussy to keep the front of mine down. Don't need a lot of revs either, especially in the lower gears. I reckon if I whacked my throttle open in first gear, it would loop out.

Same here. No problem getting it to power wheelie at ease in 1-3rd gears. I’ve even got mine to come up in 4th without using the clutch at 95mph, just gave a tug on the bars! She’s a beast! I weigh 152lbs!

I cracked the throttle and I didn’t even notice it went to redline cause the front didn’t even get up more than a couple inches. So frustrating.

bro what in the hell...
IMO, the flash helps to smooth out throttle control for wheelies and the extra 15hp is nice but not the reason that this bike lifts off...
have you checked to make sure your chain slack is good and your clutch is properly adjusted and not slipping on you? no offense, but what is your weight?

Two things that will affect that is weight and altitude. Remember that for every 1K' in elevation you lose about 3% of power. I live at 4k', and the power difference from sea level is quite noticeable, especially on NA engines. If you live in Colorado, it'd be even worse. And yes, if you're a, hmmm, 'plus sized', same thing; the more, the harder it'd be. So hopefully not both 'conditions' together. Ha ha.

I feel like I have the same problem. My 09 was more wheelie happy in 2nd gear than my 10 now is. Im going for a dyno run next Friday hoping to get some more info on power figures for my bike.
