I know the TC systems a different between the R1 and the FZ/MT and that the R1 does have wheelie control. I ask because I did my first accidental wheelie on my FZ-10 the other day in TC mode 1.
If this bike does have it what modes is it active in? It didn’t come up far but I also rolled off once I realized it was happening. Didn’t panic and slam it down but it did catch me a little off guard because of how smoothly it came up.
Thinks in advance for the info guys!

On my 2017 only TC3 prevents power wheelies. Figured that one out during the test ride when it cut power!

As far as i know it doesnt have "full" wheelie controll, what i mean by that is that it doesnt have a gyro measuring how far you are wheelieing.
The traction control somewhat controls your wheelie, TC3 cuts the power as soon as the front wheel lifts due to the difference in speed on the front and rear tyre, TC2 doesnt kick in as quick and a lot smoother so it kind of skips the tire on the road surface and TC1 lets you do something as long as the speed difference in the front and rear tyre is changing kind of smoothly.
My guess whould be that you technically could overcook it in TC1 if you are smooth enough, there is nothing telling the ECU that the bike is starting to lean back too far.

Ok that makes sense. So it measures the wheel speed differential between front and rear then reduces power with varying degrees of abruptness based on what setting the TC is in. So the only way to really be able to wheelie is to turn the TC off completely and the inverse is there is no computer looking out for you to keep you from looping the bike.

You can try to see what happens in TC1, i wouldnt know myself exactly how it behaves as i only really do small power wheelies, mostly a side-effect while accelerating, but judging by how TC2 acts (when the rear wheel looses grip it cuts power immediately but when in a power wheelie it lets me ride it out for a second or two), TC1 might only measure when the back wheel suddenly spikes in speed and not do anything if its accelerating normally. Try it out and see what mode suits you. If you are looking at 12 o' klocking the wheelie then wheelie controll wont let you do that either as far as i know

Have any of you tried all out taking off with TC3 and made sure that it really prevent the wheel going up?
Is it fool proof? Will it cut power to the point the bike stalls?

The bike will never 'stall' with TC3; it just simply won't make enough power to wheelie. Remember our bikes have electronic throttle, so it's easy to restrict power by simply not opening the TBs (in other words, refusing your throttle opening instructions ). Very different from the older direct cable arrangements.

TC Levels:
1: Fun mode, will wheelie at will
2. Kinda fun mode, will let you get the wheel up some but kill power before you bring it up full tilt
3. Death to wheelie mode, the second your front tire leaves ground power is killed

Ill try it out tomorrow if i remember. I think ive done it before, accelerated and the power just cut, though "damn forgot it in TC3" and proceeded to accelerate like a normal member of society.

The power cut the moment the front wheel left the ground. Feels kind of sluggish as the power cuts just before you are getting peak acceleration.
