All right, I’m new here so I’m not schooled as where to find everything. But...my MT-10 is a week out and the Two Brothers decat pipes will also be here in about a week. Question is....is it really worth pulling the ECU and sending it to 2WDW for the re flash? I ride a Yamaha FJR so that is my experience. The FJR is damn fast but not R1 stuff....but damn fast enough for me. What are so realistic options on a MT-10 ECU Re flash?

I’m not a street racer or a track day kind of guy. I mostly commute and get out on the back roads for a spirited ride a couple times a month. That said I got the 2WDW ECU flash and think it is well worth it for two reasons. First you will get smoother power delivery in all three drive modes. Second, the cooling fans come on sooner which helps to lower engine temps. Both changes are very noticeable and make what I consider an awesome machine even more enjoyable to ride. And that extra 20 HP at the rear wheel doesn’t go unnoticed.
FYI: stock exhaust, O2s removed, EXP valve wired open, and AIS block off plates installed.

I have to say it made a massive difference to the bike and I really like it. 2WDW did whatever they normally do plus tuned for the Two Bros. I have some videos and pic to post when I can get the time to edit it.

Don’t worry about power. The throttle will be 100% smoother especially the on off on throttle response. Trust me it’s worth the money and downtime just for how much better throttle control is after my 2wdw flash.

Totally agree—it’s about comfort and enjoy ability as much as it is raw horsepower. It actually gives you more power while being easier to control, and ride in general. If you don’t want to go thru removing the AIS and O2 sensors there’s another option for flashing without the extra hassle and arguably the same results (see: everyone argues on Internet forums).

You don’t have to remove either of those. All you need to do is unplug the O2 sensors that’s it. Level then in the exhaust and just unplug the electrical connectors. The AIS system is a normally closed one so you don’t have to do a thing to it unless you want to. Call 2wdw or text them. Nate was awesome to talk to and answered all my questions.
So to reiterate You do not NEED the block off plates for the AIS as pre 2wdw directly.

My decat comes with plugs so I’ll just remove the o2 sensors from harness.

The bike will run lean and you aren’t getting the benefits of the flash. Smoother throttle, HP gain, no decel pops.

Running lean is a bit overplayed with today's bikes. 2WDW did a nice video on a bike they decatted and it was actually too rich in most spots before they mapped it. I ran mine with a decat and no flash for months and other than that 5-6k flat spot and throttle jerky-ness (which are both there with the bike stock) it was perfectly fine. That said the flash is a must - it really cleans up the on/off throttle twichyness, cleans up that flat spot and they also raise the in-gear idle speed so that the engine braking isn't quite so strong.
