It cuts the fuel when you close the throttle. It’s beyond annoying and makes smooth on/off throttle control anarchy at best. I had the guys at 2 wheel dyno works fix that as part of my tune with the “reduced engine braking option”. The throttle is sooooo much smoother now and mid corner throttle corrections do not upset the bike like they used to. Maybe I’m a shill but the tune I got from them has made my FZ-10 so much more enjoyable to ride.

Thanks rracer
I kinda knew that already but im stumped as to why its actually implemented
I have a funny feeling its purely for fuel savings as it is esentially turning the engine off

Most likely for emissions. Since you’re decelerating any fuel being pumped in is only causing emissions in the eyes of the people that regulate that stuff. Who’s cares about rideability right? SMH

It is emissions. Sadly Europe governs what spec a bike is owing to being such a large market and having such strict emissions rules. It's more economically viable to make one version for the whole global market than a US one and a UK one say.
So fuel on deaccelaration then, or decel cut off, fuel on throttle roll off.
The particular test on Euro 4 (the current emissions noise and other crap that restricts what a bike can be like regulations) state a bike must produce emissions of a certain label when the bike is not idling or not having the throttle applied.
To get round that as soon as you come off the gas modern bikes just cut the fuel immediately, hence harsh feeling felt.
That is it is a very basic summary but why we add fuel on decel when we get a tune or flash.
