Has anyone replaced their air filter yet? I was reading something online that said we can use the same air filter as the newer r1s.

I'm waiting for someone to write a tech tip on this. How to change air filter, with some pics. So far, not many people sharing their experiences working on their Fz-10's , just after pics. Hopefully someone will write up a tech tip on this.

I've only changed the oil and back tire on mine. Nothing to write about. It's a Yamaha, super reliable and low maintenance, that's one of the reasons why I bought it.

Im not sure if you will get any performance gains so maybe wait until your bike reaches the maintenance interval? When ready, the K&N is proven. Also, Im changing title of this thread so that other peeps can find it and add their experiences later.

I installed the K&N Race filter today. I noticed it wouldn't lay flat when I put it in unless I pressed down on the top edge. Yes I had the bottom edge hooked in. I don't think it is a bit deal as the air box cover pushes it down. But as always I tend to worry about things.
What do you guys think?
Thanks.

After a little while though if you take airbox cover off for maintenance or whatever the airfilter should stay put..

Has anyone replaced their air filter yet? I was reading something online that said we can use the same air filter as the newer r1s. I ordered a BMC for 2015 R1.. Its the same part number for MT/FZ10.. Super easy to change, Its just a pain in arse getting the fake scoops and airbox/tank cover off.. I think some people are getting the tank up without removing the scoops, by just pulling them away from the tank and lifting it straight up..

Changing the filter is super easy, just a bit tedious because the tank has to come up. Its more of a PITA pulling off all the plastics.
Follow the guide on this site for doing block off plates.. its essentially the same thing.
