Does anyone have a way to get the warning decal off the tank without scaring up the paint?

warm it up with a hair dryer for a little bit first. Softens the glue and it will peel right off without having to use anything to remove the sticky crap.

Shiny or matte paint? On a gloss finish use heat and your fingernails to get it off. Then Goo Gone. Trickier on a matte finish, you have to be very careful not to scratch the paint.

Hair Dryer method for sure. Even better if you let it sit in the sun for a bit.
Goo Gone or WD-40 to get the remnants.

I have the more delicate matte paint, and no issues with heat and finger nails. Then WD-40 for the residue, followed with a wax job (I did the entire bike). I'd NEVER use Goof Off on any paint or plastic; that thing is nasty. Goo Gone is effective too, but it requires more rubbing, so I only use it to remove airbag sticker residue from sun visors. By the way, I removed ALL stickers (except the VIN one), reflectors, and visible assembly paint on day 1 .

Hair dryer works great bro. Got the matte black and it was fine. Just be patient when warming it up and start at a corner. Once started just go slow and reheat as needed. Works for the swing arm sticker as well.
