The oem heated grips give barely any heat compared to the oxford heated grips I have on my other bike. This is with the oem grips set to the 600cc+ mode on max heat. Is there anyway to make them warmer? I'm debating installing an oxford set on my fz-10

Is that the highest setting? I'm debating heated grips and struggling with the aesthetics of the OEM ones vs the Oxfords that most people say are warmer. In your opinion, are the OEM ones warm enough for shortish commutes in the 40s?

In your opinion, are the OEM ones warm enough for shortish commutes in the 40s? I have the OEM grips installed and for me they work good. Been riding more than 400 km the last week in 0-5 degrees C (32-40? F) and it keeps my hands from turning to ice What I really would like to install, when the temperature is as low as it is now, are handguards to stop the wind from cooling down the outside of my hands. A kit like that and heated grips would make even the coldest day comfortable enough to ride. For shortish commutes I would say the OEMs are good enough even if you have problems with cold hands.....but that's just my opinion

The only way to make the OEM grips warmer is to pour paraffin over them and strike a match.
Mine are crap and I have been back to the yamaha dealer who fitted them three times.
Does anyone electrically knowledgeable know if alternator output affects their performance?

Does anyone electrically knowledgeable know if alternator output affects their performance? of course it does. our bikes do not have "real" alternators, like cars. the only bike that has a "real" alternator is some BMW from what I remember. we are very much limited by the electricity output...

Is there anyway to make them warmer? I'm debating installing an oxford set on my fz-10 хлебобулочный, put the Oxfords on and see if they are any better. they might be (better quality) or might not be (not enough electricity in the bike for any set). judging from the internet its just a quality issue.

Don't know how they perform but they look good.
