Used to ride a r6 back in the day, wanted to get a bike again, midlife? Can't decide between a 2019 mt-10 and the new 2020 z900. Been lurking around the forums looking for answers. z900 pros
2.5k less better mpg flat foot
cons no quick shiftier - aftermarket for 500 + labor no cruise control no electronic steering dampener
mt-10 pros better handling? shorter wheelbase on balls of feet quick shiftier *** edit***
cruise control
electronic steering dampener cons 2.5k more. mpg.
i think i just need a little push for the mt-10 to justify the 2.5k

MT-10 already comes with quick shifter as standard equipment (and if you get FZ10 you can fit that same quick shifter for $150). why do you need $500 for an aftermarket QS? ...you want downshifting too?  |

the z900 doesn't come with one nor does it have one as an accessory. yes, the 2019 model of the mt-10 does come with one.

another little push: 150 ponies at the rear wheel, with stock everything + ECU flash. can z900 do that? |

I test rode the Z800 before going for the MT-10, so if the 900 is anything like the 800 this is my experience:
The Z800 has significantly less power and needs to wind up a lot before it gets going. It kind of feels like its locked in the MT-10s rain mode, so for me atleast a way worse powerband and too smooth throttle.
The Z800 gives more confidence, but the 10 is definitely more fun, you ride that bike, you arent just along for the ride like the 800
The MT-10 for me is a lot more comfortable, on the Z the seat squished me against the tank.

Congrats. I paid exactly $10,000 (plus about $700 in TTL in TX), but my bike was a leftover '17 (with 0 miles, though), bought in 2018. Yours is the current year, so awesome.
