Compared to KTM 1290 Adventure. This assume enough power to hit redline and the engine is not governed. RPM column shows engine speed after shift from previous gear. Up shift always occurs at redline.  Ride on |

The interesting thing for me there is the top speed in 1st,79 MPH.
Current R1 does just over 100MPH in first,quite a difference.

Wish the MT-10 had the gearing of that Super Adventure, with a shorter 1st, taller 6th, and better gear spread all around. But a better comparison would have been the Super Duke, which I'm afraid it probably also has all-out sport gearing. At least Yamaha did a good job of matching drag with power, to top out at around 160 at redline (the numbers above are close enough), but 6th is too short for good highway fuel economy, which is really needed with only a 4.5-gal tank. Too short range is the only real criticism I have of my bike. Just 1/2-gal more would have made it just about perfect  . |

I had mine up to 135 mph on Saturday. it had a lot more left. |
