I've owned several dedicated track bikes. I like my FZ-10 at the track, but it needs rear sets for sure. I got some adjustable ones so I can still be comfortable on the street, but that might not matter to you depending on your height and inseam. The OEM suspension is great for OEM, after some adjustments for the track.
One note on the Ninja 300 for a track bike: IMHO learning on a small displacement sport bike will teach you how to use cornering speed and will make you a better, faster rider. I would love to have one for the track.
My dealer had a used FZ-10, under 10k miles for under 10K. The bike was dialed too. If I didn't already have one, I would have snagged it.
Thanks. I had a ninja 300 track bike but moved on to the zx6r for better suspension. I didn't want to throw more money on the 300. That some great feedback on the MT-10. Do you know if 15+ R1 rearsets can be used for the MT-10? I don't know if the R1 rearsets can be used on the MT-10, someone else might. I found some used Driven RS's on this forum. I like the adjust ability, and they look and work good, but the controls are a bit sloppy feeling.

Around 20ish...? mm higher if I remember.

The MT10 I just bought has R1 rear sets and Rizoma handlebar clamps to lower the bar a bit. Has an R1 master cylinder for the rear brake in order to work/fit properly. Seller had it set up for the track (he did some instructing at his track also). I don’t ever plan on tracking it but I really like this seating position. Sporty, yet still comfortable enough for my tastes. I’m 6’2”, 32” inseam, 200 lbs, 41 yrs old. I do keep my feet (size 12) on the arches most of the time, but tucked against the heel guard. However, it isn’t much difference in comfort when on the balls, just different. Probably just laziness so I don’t have to move so much to shift. Rode it for about 2 hours today and no discomfort at all.
