Hi, I'm new to this forum as I am trading my FJ 09 for a leftover 2019 MT 10. I I'm in Massachusetts and this will be my 3rd Yamaha in 2 years. I'm a bit sad to move on from the triple as it is a sweet motor but I want a little bit more and this seems to be a more refined and complete bike. This is gonna be a hard friggin winter with this sitting in my garage ready to rip......and it's not even December yet. So give me the lowdown on these MT10. What do I need to do? I'm 6'1" and 245 lbs. Is the stock suspension good and do I need to respring? Any regrets with this bike?

Your about my size bro. Find yourself a suspension tuner and have them set it up. Stock settings are off, especially for your size but that being said it depends on how you ride it.
It's a 50 dollar bill give or take and makes a monster difference in confidence. Best $$ you can spend in my opinion.
Welcome aboard, bought mine at the end of March and almost 4000 miles later, still my favorite ride to date with the exception of my old and sold zx12r. Friggin thing was a rocket

Hahaha. Dude I took it to used race some and actually is a track side tuner. He is suggesting a Mupo R1 shock and spring. It's in my track day fund savings plan. He was able to get the suspension set for street riding though. No BS man he made it work. Havent bottomed out sense. But I'm not near as aggressive as some of these folks on here. I can cook a little bit but not like some.
I'm sure someone else will chime in with something more constructive than lose weight.
I was going to try and set it myself but realized I just dont know wth I'm doing lol!!

Welcome! Glad to read that you had your suspension tuned by a pro, and more so that the bike rides better for you. I adjusted mine myself (sorta) using a video from Dave Moss Tuning for street riding. He has a different track setup using a pro rider and lots of laps. DMT says our springs are soft compared to R1 and generally fast track riding. I weigh 200+- and have never bottomed out, even on the track. I am not fast enough/ hard braking enough for me to justify the monster price tag of upgrades to the suspension. Glad to have you aboard and hope for a quick winter so you can enjoy the new toy!
