I just bought a cat deleting two brothers 3/4 exhaust for my FZ-10, (just got my FZ yesterday and i'm super stoked 'cause it's an absolute beast). But i do have some questions about doing the exhaust and about things i might need.
All i could find was like 50 threads asking if you need a flash or power commander but nothing about year long riding and other things you might need changing around the exhaust. But i'm kinda curious about which one is better. I ride year round in washington so it goes from pretty cold (high 20s to high 50s in the winter) to about mid 70s to high 80s in the summer, so i was thinking maybe a normal ECU flash wouldn't work as well because of changes in humidity and air temperature? Or am i just an idiot and overthinking it? Also, do i need smog plates or a servo buddy? I saw those getting brought up but no one's talking about it and the search bar in the forums isn't working atm.
TL;DR- Got 3/4 exhaust Flash or PCV better for year round Do i need smog plates? Do i need a servo buddy?

If you get an ECU flash, you will need smog plates because the flash will disable the AIS system, you wont need a servo buddy because the flash will disable the servo as well. The plates seal the exhaust ports from air leakage, the servo buddy is just so you don't get a fault code if you unplug the servo from the harness (if you don't get the ECU flashed). 2wheeldynoworks is in Kirkland WA., you should just email or call them to get more detailed answers about air temps and the riding you do.
Just as an example, I got flashed, installed the plates, and removed the servo and cables, (also removed O2 sensors) I'm in the SF bay area, so my temps are 40-100.

You don't necessarily *need* to install the plates when you get the flash done. Once the AIS is disabled you can leave that in place and do the removal later. This is what I did on my 2016 R1.
