I noticed small amounts of oil on the ground in my garage from under the engine of the bike. I looked under and I saw oil around the edges of the oil pan, but there was a bit around, so it was hard to tell where. I cleaned it all up with simple green and checked the next day for leaks. Next day, I was pretty sure it was the oil pan gasket. I brought it in to get diagnosed and fixed under warranty. Eventually they found the leak (had to be on the side stand) and they ordered a new gasket, 2CR-13414-00-00, GASKET, STRAINER C (from the repair order). It took about a week to get the part. They also said they checked for flatness. After some miscommunication on their end and a bit of hassle for me, they fixed the leak and I got the bike back. It doesn’t leak anymore.

I had the same thing on mine. happened at around 2800-3000 miles. Fixed under warranty and got it back a week later. Uneventful, except for the missed trackday at Road America.

That's disappointing to see on a new Yamaha.

I just got home from vacation last week and my bike was on the rear stand - 6 drops of oil on ground - finally looked at it yesterday and noticed it could either be drain plug and blowing back all around the pan or it could very well be the pan gasket - I hope mine is under warranty if it's the gasket -7k miles

I had about 3500 miles when i realized it. Only would do it on the side stand... at least that’s what the dealer thought since they didn’t see it while it was in a whee chock.

I'm also seeing an oil leak and dirt build up under the oil pan that started at around 500 miles on my '18. From what I've seen this is a common problem.
As an edit, I think it was residual oil from the break in filter change because after the second oil change it hasn't leaked at all.

I have 6,200 miles on my 2019 MT-10 I picked up new just under 6 months ago and it just started to consistently leak oil from the rear side of the oil pan gasket by the kick stand.
I dropped it off at the dealer today for warranty repair. First disappointment from Yamaha for me of all their bikes that I've had.
EDIT: Got it fixed by the local dealer under warranty. Its been a few months with no more leaks whatsoever. It took about 2 weeks, from when I dropped it off to when I got it back.

I had exactly the same issue. 4000 miles. I couldn’t book in with local dealer for warranty due to COVID lockdown so changed the pan strainer gasket myself. The manual states the 3 bolts in the corner where they leak need to be thread locked. I believe there’s a problem with them becoming loose and the thread lock is the fix. Mine had red loctite on but they were super easy to unbolt and the bolt in the corner was definitely loose when I first spotted the leak as I torqued back to spec (12nm) and then up to 19 when the leak persisted.
I think the loctite melts with the temperature when running, runs down the thread and if the bolt loosens slightly damages the gasket (unbelievably soft, almost like paper).
I intend to check the torque of those 3 bolts regularly in the future - 12nm.

I've got right at 7K miles on my '19 MT-10 and it has recently started leaking, almost for certain from the oil pan. I think I'm out of warranty (isn't is just a 1-year warranty?) and see I can buy the gasket at partzilla online for about $15. It doesn't look like there's much to swapping it out. Remove about 12 bolts from the pan, remove the old gasket, clean the surface of the block and pan and put the new gasket in place and replace the bolts. Is that pretty much it? Being sure to torque the bolts the right amount and use thread-locker. I've done this on a couple of cars over the years but never to a bike and just don't want some spring to come flying out when I pull the pan and be like "where the #$%^& did that come from?!?!?" Thanks in advance for any advice/pointers!

Dang I'll have to keep an eye on my '19 as well. Only a hair over 1400 miles as of right now though but I'll be sure to throw a wrench on all the bolts to make sure they're all tight.

My 2021 also had this issue, at 2k miles. My dealer also checked for flatness and said "the pan might be a little warped but its too hard to tell".
They replaced the gasket and pan, been good since then.

Did you end up fixing this yourself?
