It may be a pain but have you taken a plug out and looked at it, you are going to change them anyway, then you can verify if the ones you are ordering are correct, Advance Auto sells NGK plugs, they may have what you need on the shelf, I have been to get the plugs for my other bikes at Advance Auto, if not maybe a bike shop near you would have what you need, or try ordering from Revzilla or Sportbiketrackgear, they seem to have fairly knowledgeable sales staff.

no offense but is this a joke?
Take one out and look at it? don't we all use the same plugs here? have they changed?
This is insane to me.
and its a major pita to change these plugs from what I'm seeing and reading

Well, if you need them now, I'd order from a dealer this time; you should get the correct ones. Getting one out is crazy indeed. And you're correct; not having a differentiation in the part number for those different variations is ridiculous. If you can wait a little longer, I'm sure at least some other owner here already went thru that, and should be able to describe if it's a single or dual electrode (probably dual, due to the manual picture), and stud or cap. Or call a large dealership, and ask the service department. Good luck, and please keep us posted.

Thanks, not in a rush at all. Moving this weekend, next weekend friends bachelor party, so I got time.
I called a Yamaha shop (not a dealer) and the confident guy said, "sure, I know exactly what you need" and just read the part #. I explained the differences I found and he told me it could just be different pictures. This could be true too but I also found the same part # that specifically states it has a studded top not a cap top.
So still not sure.
Thanks

yea thats what I think too. I'm thinking it is the longer plugs, 2 electrodes and studded top part instead of the cap.
Autozone had the same thing.

The only way to be sure is to pull one out and look at it. NGK web site as you probably already know is not much help. Since the issue is convoluted some members may be hesitant to jump in and chance giving you wrong info and be guilty of making the problem worse.

Why would you order them then, pull one to identify it? Personally, I would pull one out confirm it's identity then, get on my computer and order them. Shipping options are going to range from 1 day to whatever you're comfortable with.

To me, why would you pull it, identify it, then order it sounds weird unless it’s something custom. I typically trust parts manuals, order the parts, then replace. Especially maintenance items.

Exactly!! there is ZERO reason you should have to pull a part first to find out the ... part number lol.
