Traveled about 2k miles, 1k each way to pick up my 2017 FZ10 from a buddy of mine who lives in the GA mountains, over by blood mountain. my parents have a cabin there so I go up as much as possible.
In anycase I rode it Saturday and Sunday and it was awesome. I just brought it back home to where I live in S. FL, from 2k feet to sea level. I noticed the idle is not perfectly staying at a certain RPM, but rather moving from like 1k to 1100 and if you listen you can hear its also surging a tad.
He has a graves exhaust on it and got the ECU flashed, never had an issue. I'm just thinking is it possible since I rode it only about 2000 feet down here at sea level and just idled it , it needs to learn?
or is this normal?

I can only manage 27.5 mpg with mine. Your idle didn't seem that bad?

Idle surging is usually not normal. But it's a hard problem to chase down. It could be anything from a clogged air filter, cracked airbox, broken vacuum line, clogged fuel pump, messed up fuel mapping.
I would definitely wait it out a bit to see if it fixes itself, but on such a young bike, the culprit would likely be the exhaust and idle. Backpressure differences can cause surging idle too.
Is there anything else about the bike? Like has it been crashed?
And does it do it when the bike is fully warmed up? 150 degrees is below operating temps.

Thanks, so no never been crashed, bike is perfect, with about 11,400 miles on it. He did a lot of add ons, mostly cosmetics. (carbon pieces) added the K&N airbox (not the flat filer, the bigger one) and the graves exhaust with a flash. I got home late last night and just pushed the bike in the garage, came home from work today and just rode around my neighborhood a few times. Yea I got the bike up to operating temp, hit 200 degrees and came back down. I was testing to make sure the fan turned on when I realized the idle. This weekend I'll be riding it a lot more so maybe it might figure things out? I did put ethanol free gas in it while I was up there, don't think he ever used that, not sure if that would make any difference, usually its better with no ethanol.

Mine idles perfectly, but it's not tuned. My guess is it's the tune, probably not compatible with the mods you have (racing air filter + decatted pipe + EXUP valve). But it could also be an intake leak somewhere, or something else. That's the risk you take buying a modded bike. Ask the previous owner what exactly he did to it, if he had that problem before, and decide how to proceed. Good luck.

He thinks it might have been like that and not an issue. Or since its been sitting for 7-8 months to maybe throw some seafoam in there. I'll try some seafoam this weekend

If that's the case, I'd start with a call to the tuner; they can answer if your bike's behavior is normal or not. But if the fuel wasn't stabilized during those 8 months, it'd start with fresh fuel. I'd only add a fuel additive like Techron, if needed. If that's what 'seafoam' is, fine. If not, I'd skip it. Good luck.

techron? like Chevron the gas stations brand? Seafoam is pretty solid stuff, many have successful tests with it
