Hey gang, I currently have the Grab-On grip sleeves, and I'm happy with them... except that I can't rev-match well when braking because the grip diameter is a little big for that now. The bike I borrowed at the dragon recently had these gel grips: www.revzilla.com/dirt-bike/pro-grip-719-rvgs-gel-gripsAnd I could rev-match perfectly, and didn't have any issues with them. They're probably about the same size as stock, but supposed to absorb vibrations better. The problem is I don't know if those grips would be at least as good as my Grip-Ons (same material as grip-puppies, but 4.25" vs 5.00" long for a perfect fit on our bikes) to quell vibrations that caused numbing. They also have some negative reviews about the middle gel material coming apart, and also the color coming off. I'm not going to leave my bike outside unless riding on a trip, so not overly concerned about that. Another negative comment is the ends don't look OEM, but don't know what they're talking about. Anyway, if somebody here has them, could you please post a pic or two, and also explain the installation process you had to follow? I'd be greatly appreciated. I'd replace them if somebody here has them, and can personally vouch they improved vibration and comfort vs stock. And the durability and wear issues. The other thing I'd like to know is if they're of the same diameter as stock, in case they don't work as advertised, I could slip another set of Grab-Ons and call it a day. Thanks gang. JC

So nobody here has installed those grips? How about any other grips? I'm looking for something that absorbs vibrations better than the stock ones, but to be honest, maybe I didn't give the stock grips enough of a chance, since I was getting used to the bike, and was probably grabbing them too hard initially. They might be okay now, but wanted to have an alternative before ripping the foam sleeves off, and see what happens. Guess will have to just that, and post results after my upcoming trip to the Hill Country (Sep 16-20). Can't do throttle blips consistently when braking with those thick things, so want a change. And if my hands get numb, then I could try those pro-grips I posted and see what happens. Thanks gang.

I'm new here but I feel this forum is very very dead now a days. I have a simple post about spark plugs and not 1 person knows which is which. Good luck with your grips, something I'd like to know too

On my first bike (FZ6), I got numb hands a lot and switched to grip puppies. That helped the vibrations, but I suffered hand cramps due to the larger diameter just like you found with the Grab-Ons. Later, I tried a buddy's bike with the Pro Grip 719's and loved them. They're normal diameter, but so grippy that they kind of stick to my gloves and I barely need to squeeze down. I actually have zero numb hands now with the Pro Grips.
On my MT-10, I was going to put on a set of the Pro Grips, but am holding off because I might go for heated grips instead. There's practically zero vibes on this bike unless you're full throttle, so I'm just doing it for personal preference (no numb hand issues).

just for the record I bought and installed these grips, I love them, a little thicker than the stock ones and obviously look better (IMO) they are comfortable for sure. Not sure about the color, I should have gotten green, I was thinking the yellow matched the rims better

There's practically zero vibes on this bike unless you're full throttle, so I'm just doing it for personal preference (no numb hand issues). I do get numbness, but it takes longer than any other 4-cyl bike I've ever owned. I didn't get numb with the Grab-Ons, but they're too big, so I removed them. Will buy the Pro-Grips too then (any links for the right ones?). Hey Fastfed, the grips you have are exactly the ones we're talking about here, but I'll buy them in black, although they're more gray than black. Just have to make sure they have the hole for the barends already. Finally, any tips on removing the stock ones? Curious if they can be removed on both sides without destroying them, but doesn't matter that much. Thanks.

I'm going to order the Pro-Grip 719 RVGS grips, but need guidance on how to install the right one. Noticed the OEM right one only comes as an assembly, while the left just the grip. That means the throttle tube could be damaged if just removing/installing the grip. I don't mind destroying it, but want to make sure the new one can be installed without issue, and how. Thx.

take the throttle tube off with the stock grip, you just need to take the cables off, its very easy. Then use an air gun and you spray the air gun under the grips, it will loosen them and eventually slide right off. if you don't have an airgun you can use a razor blade and just gently slice the stock ones off, ruining them forever.. obviously To put the new ones on, I used hairspray a ton of it and sprayed both the inside of the new grips and the bar ends and while wet quickly slide them on and adjust as needed. Works great and never loosens. For the throttle tube same thing only you're doing it on a work bench or something.
