Hey everyone. I've been holding off on posting, wanted to wait until I actually picked up the bike. Was going to get it ('19 MT-10) today but the dealer delayed in getting the bike transported to their location so am planning to pick it up tomorrow. I've been riding just over 30 years now, mostly Yamahas including the grandpa of the MT-10, an FZ-1. The bike I've been riding the most recently is a Yamaha XT-250, riding it pretty much every day for a while now. I might have to pull 3 of the spark plug wires off of the MT-10 and add them back slowly over the course of the next couple of weeks to try to get used to some power again.  Let me see if I can post a pic of the XT here without reading the directions first...  |

Ugh. Dealer just called me. The bike they sent their driver to get turned out to be a demo bike with 80+ miles on it and a few scuffs. They say they've located another bike now still in the crate but can't have it ready for me until late Tuesday at the earliest. Probably going to wind up being next Friday before I can pick it up now. If this is the worst problem I have going on in my life right now then... I can live with it. I've ridden demo bikes before and I know how those "demo miles" can go. "Let's see what this thing can do..." |

They say they've located another bike now still in the crate but can't have it ready for me until late Tuesday at the earliest. Probably going to wind up being next Friday before I can pick it up now. If this is the worst problem I have going on in my life right now then... I can live with it. I've ridden demo bikes before and I know how those "demo miles" can go. "Let's see what this thing can do..." The FZ/MT10 population in NC is booming and idk how I feel about it. It's awesome but I wanted something unique LOL  . What part of NC you from? |

Tell them you'll take it in the crate....All you have to do is remove from crate, check the oil, tire pressure, charge & hook-up battery, attach mirrors, and gas & go. Also, tell them to take off dealer prep price ($300-$600) and you will be on the road! See my profile pics!

I'd consider doing that but I normally work M-F and the warehouse where the bike is located is in DC and my wife is out of town and I have to watch the dogs and I've never worked with this dealer before and... and... and... Too many variables. I would rather them just get the bike ready and go pick it up. The other complication is that I'm trading in a... wait for it... SPORTSTER on this bike. So I'm just really happy that they're even working with me. If this was a straight-out sale without a trade-in involved I'd have been going to a dealer closer to me already. As it is this dealer is about an hour and a half away from me so I'm trying to really tread lightly here. Wish me luck. Looking forward to some power wheelies. |

Oh yeah, I was thinking of at least trying to get them to throw in one of those "comfort seats" while I'm there but I think they know I'm kind of bent over here with the Sportster that nobody wants to buy so I'm just hoping for the best at this point and not planning on buying another Harley anytime soon. (I got burned on my last Harley selling experience, too. That's enough.) |
