I currently wear a Shoei Neotec II and generally really like it, especially in summer where I can lift the chin bar and take a drink at any time. It's very comfortable and well-built and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a modular.
That being said, there are a few minor things I'm not a fan of, namely the elevated wind noise that you find with any modular helmet (not a problem on my Versys 1000, but the MT-10 accentuates it), the weight (also due to the modular nature), the fact that I can't use my Cardo PackTalk Slim (which is honestly much superior to the Sena SRL that I have installed), and its less-than-streamlined profile.
So I'm looking for a full-face helmet to add to my shelf and I think I've narrowed it down to the HJC RPHA 70 ST and the Shoei RF 1200. Does anyone have experience with these or have any alternate suggestions to offer?
Thanks in advance!

Reviving this as I was hoping there would be answers.
I'm looking to get a Cardo PackTalk Slim but I need a new helmet and it is incompatible with the GT Air II, which I probably would have gotten if I didn't have to buy the Sena SRL. I have had a mediocre experience with the 20s.

I really love my Shoei RF1200.
I also love the way HJC RFHA helmets fit me as well.
So it looks like you are in a similar boat as I was when I bought.
My recommendation is at a similar price point get the Shoei. If you can save a hundred (or more) get the HJC.
I've owned Arai but was not 100% happy with the fit. I've owned Scorpion and it was definitely a step down in quality over a Shoei although still not a bad helmet. I also had an Icon Airmada which I personally liked but ended up selling for something better after getting tired of all my buddies calling me a squid, lol.

My last helmet was a Shoei GT Air, which I really liked, but now I have a Schuberth S3 which I think is even better. I just installed the Cardo Packtalk Black, which is a great unit but the spring clip doesn't work with the Schuberth, so I had to go with the stick-on mount. the spring clip would have worked in my Shoei though

I'm looking at the Scorpion ST1400 (drop down shield that I have loved on my last 2 Scorpions) carbon and Scorpion EXO-R1 Air as I love the graphics with lime to match. My current helmet is a Scorpion ST-1200 and previous was EXO-500. I've had an Arai and a few Shoeis in the past. These Scorpions seem to be the best fit for my somewhat long oval head. Can't be the prices either.

I’m currently using the hjc Rpha 70 st and a Cardo pack talk bold com system. Seems to be a good combination. For what it’s worth I don’t have any non hjc experience though, this one fits good and had the features I wanted at a decent price. The wind noise is touch much for me, but again I can’t compare it to anything so maybe it’s normal compared to other helmets. I am now trying out some motorcycle specific earplugs which seem to help a lot.

I just use the squishy earplugs I buy in a pack at walmart. I do also have some neoprene type ones I haven't tried. What a huge difference they make. Really makes riding a little less "wearing" and helps me focus as well. Noise can be way more distracting that many folks can imagine.

My only concern would be not being able to hear that using the foam plugs. Also OP, I previously used the older rpha modular helmet from hjc which I also used the Cardo pack talk bold in. If you want the modular I don’t see what you couldn’t have the com system too. The rpha modular isn’t too heavy either from what I remember. I went with the fixed full face to be safer and potentially less wind noise (which this helmet was better than my modular).

I have been using ear plugs from a company called EarPeace, great upgrade for me from the orange foam plugs. I also use the Cardo Bold and have zero issues hearing and have even had to lower the volume at times. They have different inserts to block more sound or let more through, very pleased with them .
