New MT-10 Owner here! Not even, actually—signed all the paperwork and I’m awaiting my M4 exhaust install to be completed by the weekend and I’ll be scooping my new Yammy.
Traded a newer Electra Glide (giant touring Harley) and have had two HD’s. Before that, I rode at Jennings GP for 3 years constantly on my GSX-R750 race bike that was my second purchase after my first scooter was an ‘04 GSX-R1000. Love cornering and sliding bikes around and the HD’s tire selection didn’t hold up well to my style, so I decided to take the plunge.
Does anyone have video/audio of the M4 de-cat system? I’m dying to hear what it sounds like before Saturday. Also was wondering how badly I’ll need a tune after aforementioned upgrade and also if it’s possoble to remove the ‘feelers’ from the rear sets...or do you have to just grind them down?
If anyone is in the Central Fla area and in need of a Powersports dealership, I went thru them all and found a great guy and a great store in Orlando...just lmk. I am also in the car business if anyone needs advice or help, especially with trucks.
Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of the MT family and I look forward to trying to keep the thing in one piece.
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum. I recommend ECU flash with any 3/4 or full system exhaust changes. These bikes come from the factory very limited because of their emissions. You will actually lose power due to the backpressure changes of the stock ECU fuel maps.

Much appreciated! What’s the easiest way to make that happen? I’ve read about mailing off the factory ECU rather than doing a piggy back system, etc. I’m having the exhaust done before delivery as I want to ride this thing rather than having too much down time. Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance! I personally have done the actual mailing in of my ECU to 2WDW. My bike seems to run fine although my friends who ride behind me sometimes complain about how it smells. Lol not sure if that's good or bad. If you're having the dealer do the exhaust install, I would say you will have to wait until you have the bike home to mail out the ECU as I don't think the dealer will approve of such behavior and willingly give you the ECU out of the bike. It ends up being about a week of downtime if you mail it on a Monday. You will get it back that Friday. I can't speak on the piggyback systems but I think people have had success with them too.

Same with my ecu flash from 2wdw. I got very strong exhaust fume smell when riding behind it. I have had few people tell me this when riding behind me. Guess that’s why we get crappy fuel mileage on these bikes.

Scooping her tomorrow AM!! Going to break it in and mail my ECU to Nels @ 2WDW for a tune with the new exhaust.
Honest question: I believe in driving the shit out of a new vehicle for break-in—40/50 miles and then change oil and go to the normal recommended maintenance schedule. With that in mind, which mode/TC/WC setting should I take this first ride in?
Thanks for opinions in advance!
Cheers

Holy. Hell. Everything I dreamt of and more—thing is an absolute monster and I didn’t stop smiling. I ran it in Mode 3 and TC 3 and it was still a blast. Once broken in I’ll upload some videos of me beating on it but if anyone lurks the forum and is on the fence....do it!
