So I absolutely hate the look and how much weight the cat has/is on this bike. I saw we can get a mid pipe for a pretty fair price. If I were to do that and leave all else stock would I need to reflash? I assume yes due to the back pressure change, but I am not an engine guy unfortunately. If it would require a reflash, any recommendations on brand or type. Ive read quite a bit about staying away from Power Commander on these due to limits they have. I had a Power Commander on my last bike and once I put the map on for the exhaust I never really touched it again.
Thanks in advance.

You probably should. Just from the factory, the bikes are sapped power. They tend to lose even more when you remove anything beyond just the exhaust cannister.
The general consensus is that a flash is all you need. But this is a complex and controversial topic. Basically the answer remains in what you use the bike for and what you're trying to accomplish.
So with that being said, if you're not concerned with replacing the exhaust can or the headers, peak performance is not of utmost importance, so a flash is plenty for you.

Just know that you are going to get a lot of N-O-I-S-E with deleting the cat. Very little sound suppression is done in the stock exhaust can, it's done in the cat box.

The manufacturers are in a tough spot with emissions and noise regulations so most sportbikes nowadays are set up pretty poorly for perfomance.
I would recommend that. There are a lot of good 3/4 systems out there that replace everything after the headers.
You'll still want an ECUflash. This is by far the LOUDEST bike I ever owned when I went with my 3/4 system. The deacceleration popping was akin to gunshots and riders behind me would tell me they could feel the shockwaves from them before I was able to get in with my tuner and get the ECU flashed.

Should I get this professionally done? Im sure my dealer could do it. I like the idea of doing it myself, but some of it scares me. Im also not sure what a flash from the dealer would cost vs the flash kit.

A decat is easy if you have the appropriate tools and take the time to view the myriad of how to videos on the internet. As for flashing the ECU, pull the left side panel, unplug it from the harness, pop it in a padded box and send it to Nels at 2 Wheel Dyno Works
I wouldn't send my worst enemy to a dealer.
