I'm shopping for a reliable cell phone mount for my MT10/Galaxy S9. The Quad Lock mount looks good but I'm wondering how durable those plastic tabs are. Anyone here have experience with this setup? Thanks.

Used daily for over two years now. Still going strong.

RAM mount, tried and true, I won't trust my $1000 phone to anything else.

RAM is good but it's just so big. Swapped out my RAM for the Quadlock. When you've not got your phone fitted it's still really unobtrusive.

RAM is good but it's just so big. Swapped out my RAM for the Quadlock. Hey, question for you: Do you think you can mount your phone without using the extension arm? Somebody mentioned mounting his without the extension, and it can't get any smaller and unobtrusive than that (my main detraction of the Ram is its bulk as well). I'd like to mount it right in the middle of the handlebar without the extension, but would like to know if you can rotate the phone to lock/unlock it without hitting the riser brackets. I'd greatly appreciate if you could try it; it'd take you a few minutes... and you might leave it that way too . If it does work, I'm sold. If not, need to think about which to buy, since the Ram is the gold standard, and it's actually cheaper than the QuadMount ($80 for my iPhone handlebar, and $105 with the poncho vs $50). Thanks brother. Two more questions, plus the above one; hopefully somebody can answer them: 1. Can you mount a phone without using the extension, when mounted in the middle of the handlebar? 2. How waterproof is their expensive 'poncho'? I'd use it on an iPhone 6S+, which are quite delicate with water. 3. Can you mount your phone in either portrait or landscape orientations without having to mess with the bracket? Thx.

And I just ordered the RAM's 'claw'. Didn't hear feedback from Mrcdhardwood, so went with the proven and cheaper design . I also liked it has no screws, which looks better to me. Yes, it could also be stolen easier, but I'm not worried about that. Hopefully one of the new QuadLock buyers can try installing it in the middle of the handlebar without the extension. Thx.

Here you go. You can remove the arm. These images are with it removed and angled to allow good visibility and full lock left and right. You can turn the phone on the mount without removing but you need to keep the lock release depressed and the phone pushed against the mount. I have done it on the move but don't recommend it. To mount the phone on the bars vertically you'd have to have the phone pretty much flat which is useless as it will hit the tank panels. Also note that I have the arm fitted and up high so my phone sits in my line of sight without taken my eyes off the road too much. Without the arm the phone sits low and practically this means you have to sit up and look down and tuck your chin into your neck to see the display. It's a PITA when using satnav hence the high position of mine, eyes on the road and all that. Hope this helps.
