I might buy an MT-10 later in the year, or next Spring, or maybe an R1. Just hanging around and reading threads. You might recognize me as a retired mod from the Yamaha R3 forum. I'm currently rocking a Ninja 650 and Street Triple 765 RS, and the latest addition to the stable was actually an electric scooter, 24 mph of death on a 24 pound scooter, hah. I never did buy that FZ-07.
Basically, I want a liter bike at some point, but I don't want a typical "angry bee" inline-4, the noise does nothing for me. The V4 bikes are either ancient, or trapped in expensive Italian branding. I don't want the 1050cc Speed Triple, and that leaves Yamaha as the remaining option. So, I'm plotting.

Welcome to the forum! Hope you'll find that the MT10 is what you're looking for.

Just sit down and start reading, you'll eventually determine if the -10 is worth consideration or not.

Sounds like you got a bunch of bikes. What did you want the liter bike for?

Sounds like you got a bunch of bikes. What did you want the liter bike for? Just to expand on my first post. Had a Yamaha R3 and Yamaha FZ6R. Have a weekend 765RS now, and also daily commute to work on a Ninja 650. I just want to experience/enjoy/suffer a liter bike for a season at some point. Though that suggests scouring CL for a cheap used older machine to flip after a year. I could walk into Yamaha down the street and plunk down a reservation for a new R1 or R1M ... but I realize that I won't get to fully enjoy a liter bike, so I don't want to blast that kind of money at it. Also with the economy gearing up to be rough for 2020+ ... it's gonna be hard to sell expensive used bikes. Reality I'd probably find a used CBR/GSXR -- but regular inline fours don't appeal to me (the sound), so I am lethargic about it all.

R1 seems like the best choice.
