Hi everyone! Picked up my 18 MT10 about 10 days ago. Had a little surprise at about 400 miles😯. Other than a new rear tire I've added a Givi touring windscreen, comfort seat and Rox 2 inch risers.

Risers look good.
Do they make a noticeable difference?
Lovely looking bike.

Thanks. It feels a lot more comfortable sitting more upright, I just need to get used to it in the turns again. I'm happy with it so far.

I do prefer the darker grey with the 2018 model, as opposed to the earlier lighter grey. I too have a 2018 MT-10 (in black) and love it. I've owned 16 bikes and think it is the best.

There was not a black MT10 offered in 2018, only matte gray and black/blue. There was a raven in 2017 and matte black for 2019

The only time you should plug a motorcycle tire is to try and get to a shop or home, you should never ride with a plug in as they have a habit of backing out at highway speeds. New rubber is always the best solution.

New rubber is always the best solution. The plugs they have out today stay in fine, I've run then till the tires wear out. Not throwing away a tire for no reason.

What do you mean you had to drill a new hole in the handlebar for the throttle?

What do you mean you had to drill a new hole in the handlebar for the throttle? The throttle assembly has an indexing pin on it which lines up with a factory drilled hole on the handlebar to locate it correctly and keep it from spinning. When you remove and rotate the throttle assembly you'll have to drill a new hole in your bars at the new desired location before you can reinstall it.

I also have the rox risers but I'm having a really hard time seeing how it will be possible to get the clutch and throttle cables to move far enough back and up for them to fit. Could you tell me what you did do to loosen up cable slack and get it to work? I'd like to hear what worked for you before I tear my new bike apart out of desparation

Besides what I wrote above about re-drilling the handlebar for the throttle, you can pull more clutch cable up thru (there's enough slack). Also removed upper brake hose clamps which gave just enough slack for the hose. For the wire harnesses, it was tight on the right side, so I pulled the cover off of the right side fake ram air duct and had to remove some zip ties inside to pull thru more slack on the harnesses. Took my time and eventually got it all to work. I'm not at home right now to post more close-up pics, but the ones I posted show most of it.
