Curious if anyone has any hand guards for wind protection and if so what're you using? Not looking to spend a ton of money on them.

I have yamaha oem hand guards and they don't seem to make much difference to be honest.
If you look at the hand guards/bark busters on adventure bikes they are much bigger and therefore more effective.

Had the yamaha OEM handguards on a FJ-09 i rented, better than nothing but there is definitely very little wind protection.

Seems quite rare based on the pics of the members on this site. I bought for looks to be honest. Can't really tell if they do anything. Check out my other posts as there is a mod you need to do should you want to keep your stock screen with these guards. Cheers

Thanks for the replies everybody. Glad I didnt go through the trouble of getting a set. Think I'll just get some heated gloves instead.

I recently put the genuine knuckle guards on for the impending winter (down under). Gets fairly cold here by Aussie standards (regularly below zero Celsius in the morning, (dropping to -7C or 19F degrees) here in Canberra. I found last winter, that my genuine heated grips were noticeably cooler on the right side (assume due to air gap around throttle). I have found the knuckle guards greatly help this by keeping the cold wind off the throttle hand.
