CEL

Had my ECU flashed over the winter by 2WDW while my bike was in storage. Had that awful situation blowing a few fuses couple of weeks back. Finally got some time to finish getting the bike prepped today. Changed my oil filter (usual stuff), removed my O2 sensors and installed some plugs as per my discussion with 2WDW stating they should be removed after the flash. Removed my AIS system today and installed my graves block off plates. I had siphoned about half my fuel out of the tank before lifting it off during the AIS process. Only thing I noted was when I fired the bike up my fuel gauge was still showing full which I thought was strange. Away I went down the street for my first ride of the season and I noticed the CEL was on. Not sure what is causing this as the flash should have disabled the AIS, O2 sensors, and servo (which I've also pulled). Guess I'm going to get myself an OBDII reader and make up my own harness to see what kind of code I'm getting. Hoping it's something that can be easily fixed. Rode the bike around town for about 30minutes. Seems to run fine. No issues with cruise control, riding modes, TC modes, or anything of that sort. Kind of puzzled at this point.

CEL

I bought the connector on eBay for $30 shipped (I think it was this: www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-4-pin-to-OBD2-Diagnostic-Cable-MT10-FZ10-XSR900-MT09-Fault-Code-Reader/264307282520?hash=item3d89f11258:g:LtkAAOSwrnRabEc3), which beats making your own IMO . I got a CEL with a few hundred miles on the clock the first time I went over 7K rpm; it was a tight EXUP cable. I found a way to manually test the EXUP valve, and it worked perfectly, so I knew all hardware was functional. Found out about tight cables on an R1 forum, and fixed it in 10 minutes. Just wanted to mention this, since it's a possibility if your bike is new. Anyway, I carry both the adapter and a small Autel AL301 scanner under the seat ($55 total), along with the code booklet it came with, all in ziplock bags, just in case. Also managed to squeeze in there a Stop'nGo tire repair kit (under the seat), 4 CO2 cartridges, and a multi-tool . Hope this helps.

Thanks. I saw your other post about the premade cable. That would cost me over $50 CAD to my door. I can get the 4 pin connector and a harness for about $15 CAD and fabricate something pretty easy.
My issue shouldn't be the EXUP valve since I'm running a scorpion exhaust and midpipe. Although the only changes between no CEL and now are I've removed the servo completely, along with the AIS, and O2 sensors. But the 2WDW flash should have all of that disabled to prevent any CEL from coming on.
