So just this past weekend I installed an A&R baffle on my bike that is decatted. The Bike is loud but what is bothering me is when I'm cruising on the freeway around 70-90mph. The exhaust has a annoying resonance. I'm not trying quiet it, just want to change the resonance tone if possible. I was thinking of how the baffle is flat inside and thinking if there was away to have little scoops on the inside to help draw the sound into the packing more efficiently. Kinda like the old glasspack mufflers for hotrods back in the 70's-80's kinda like this.
Anyone got any suggestions???

I just changed the can on my bike and now it's borderline loud, so just about perfect. And zero fuel smell on my clothes (which I hate), plus no polluting. If it's too loud now, why decat? Some folks argue to lose weight, but it's a non issue. Plus they could lose the weight themselves, be healthier, and be happier with the bike. Ha ha. Try the stock cat without a can, and if it's loud enough, then a can like mine (Graves) or the Yoshimura accessory one would make it much deeper and refined. All the catless systems I've heard are super raspy for my taste, and super loud too, but to each his own, I guess. Good luck.

Hi there elptxjc and thanks for the reply. Not sure if I stated problem all that good so let me try and explain it better. So when I bought the bike new I literally had a hard time hearing the bike to shift when riding on city streets. Probably because I rode a Harley for 16 years or so with straight pipes (yes I was and still am one of those A$$ holes that like loud bikes). So the first thing I did was wire open the exup valve. Made it so I could hear the shifts but didn't sound all the good and still was not loud enough for my liking. So a couple of weeks ago I decatted the bike while using the stock can and it sounded kind of funny and raspy probably do to the stock can not having much of a baffle in it. Now I have installed the A&R baffle kit in the stock can and it sounds awesome but while cruising on the freeway at moderate speeds 70 to 90 ish mph there is this a resonance that is kinda undesirable. I'm hoping to figure at a way to change that resonance tone and not so much quiet it down. Personally I'm not worried about upsetting other drivers and what not. I did reach out to A&R motorsports and they recommended to try and pack more fiberglass packing in to the can as much as possible. They claimed it should soften the noise a little. Which brings me to where I'm at now. The a&r baffle has lots of perforated holes in it but there is nothing to help direct the sound in to the baffle packing itself. I guess I could by a used glasspack type muffler and tear it apart and see if I can make something work. Oh man I starting to ramble on. Well if anyone has any ideals I'd like to hear them. Thanks BigKurka out
